Som is originally from Chiang Mai, Thailand, a city in the northern part of the country renowned as a culinary center for Thai and international cuisine. She grew up on her family’s agricultural farm, and her passion for cooking was cultivated at an early age when she began assisting with the preparation of evening meals. Over the following years, Som was mentored by her grandmother and aunt in the family recipes and nuances of Thai cuisine that had been passed down from generation to generation, becoming skilled at cooking many authentic Thai dishes from three culinary regions of Thailand - Lanna, Issan, and Central Thai.
In 2017, Som moved to the USA, where she lives with her husband and son on Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Som offers private chef service specializing in delicious and authentic Thai and Asian cuisine, and she looks forward to cooking for your next party.
